Chairperson of Rundu Chiefs Football Club (FC) in Kavango East Region, Festus Nangolo has described the death of the late Robbie Savage as a great loss to the Namibian nation.

Chairperson of Rundu Chiefs Football Club (FC) in Kavango East Region, Festus Nangolo has described the death of the late Robbie Savage as a great loss to the Namibian nation.
Nangolo told Nampa on Wednesday, on behalf of Rundu Chiefs, that Robbie?s death had touched everyone in the football fraternity and was a great loss to the whole nation.
?Losing Robbie has not touched his family only but it has touched the whole nation. We feel their pain but they must be strong during this time of difficulty,? said Nangolo.
Savage passed away in the early hours of Thursday, 20 July in the Katutura State Hospital.
Nangolo said the late Robbie dedicated his entire life in support of the national football team, Brave Warriors, and football in general, which symbolised the loss of a hero as far as football is concerned.
He urged all Rundu Chiefs? supporters based in Windhoek to attend Savage?s burial to honour his contribution to Namibian football.
Chairperson of the Second Division from the Namibian Football Association (NFA) in Kavango East Region, Rudolf Haingura in his message of condolences said the football family had lost one of the most dedicated and passionate people who knew no boundaries in the support of sports.
For Savage, football was number one. He supported other football clubs when they played teams from other countries, although he belonged to African Stars. For him, Namibian football was at the bottom of his heart, said Haingura, echoing the same message to Savage?s family that their loss was a loss for the entire Namibia.
Savage was described by many as Brave Warriors? number one fan and team mascot. He was also a permanent fixture at local football games.
Savage will be laid to rest on Saturday at the Khomasdal Cemetery in Windhoek.
